Saturday 3rd September (Gates open at 12.30pm)

The carnival parade starts from Bessell Lane at 12.30pm and proceeds along Derby Road - The Roach - Church Street - Hickings Lane - Ilkeston Road and will end at the Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground at approximately 1.30pm.

This year we are lucky to have “The Wild Bunch Show Team” from Humberside to give us all the thrill of a Wild West Township, just like the cowboy shows on our screens;, but with a little humour included.For the rest of the entertainment we have is The Covert Clangers Flyball Dog Team – who have won medals for their dogs’ competitive agility at Cruffs. Simon Tebbutt is a major attraction at many shows around the region come and see his Falconry Display in the Arena as well as his static presentation on the Carnival Site. Gizmo – who starred with Johnny Depp in the Pirates of the Caribbean - and his Parrot Aid pals will be on show; Hoots Owls will also be with us; look out for them on site.We have lots of musical entertainment from Marching Bands we have the Nottingham Tartanaires and Stapleford Boys and Girls Brigade Band who will take part in the Parade (from Bessell Lane at 12.30pm to Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground – Carnival Site) and show their skills in the Arena.A Carnival wouldn’t be a Carnival if we didn’t have Fairground Organs we have ‘The Musician’ and the two smaller regular ones. Erewash Sound with Dave Hoyles will be running the PA systems together. Love the music from the 1940’s with a twist – you will absolutely enjoy The Antique Rogues. Do you support the ATC or the Sea Cadets? Get you throats and lungs ready to shout for your team in the ‘Air’ versus ‘Sea’ Tug of War Match taking part in the Arena. For the children we have Clivo and Jeani The Clowns in the Arena and The Contrary Company Stilt Ladies who will be walking around the field.Want to keep the children occupied? well head to the Fun Fair - Bouncy Castle, Slide and Rides. For the adults have a stroll round the Stalls, you are sure to pick up a prize or something you want. Hungry – no need worry there will be dedicated stalls around.We really do look forward to welcome you and your family and friends to Our Carnival; gates open to the Public at 12 noon – with the Official Opening Party at around 1.30 pm after the arrival of the Parade. There is a small charge of £1.20 for Adults and 50p for Children and Senior Citizens to help to pay for costs associated with putting on this show for you all.
