| Fairfield
Primary School will be celebrating its own Diamond
Jubilee in 2012!
60 years since the school opened
- so much has happened in that time; so many feet
have walked through the doors and over the threshold.
So many changes (improvements?) have happened
to the building and to the educational process.
We know that the school, in that time, has had
four Head Teachers - Mr Armstrong, Mr Martin,
Mr Court and the present ' incumbent', me - David
Howatson.
I cannot even hazard a guess as
to how many teachers there have been at the Fairfield,
and as for how many pupils? Well that figure must
be well into the tens of thousands. Perhaps you
were one of those many children whose early education
took place at Fairfield. If so, we would like
to hear from you - your memories of events, activities,
people, places you visited on a school trip. We
are hoping to compile some sort of history of
Fairfield and would be really grateful for the
loan of photographs or memorabilia to help us
chart the history of our school.
We are hoping to enhance the appearance
of the front of the school next spring. We aim
to do this by planting lots of spring flowering
bulbs – crocus, daffodil, tulip, narcissus
or any other bulbs that will give us a colourful
display in the spring.
We would be very grateful for the
donation of any spring flowering bulbs to help
with our little project to brighten up our drive
and entrance, especially for the sixtieth anniversary.
Please send in any donations – we hope to
have the bulbs planted before our half-term break.
If you feel you can help please contact us.
Thank you
